: MP3 to WAV Using Winamp
MP3 to WAV conversion using Winamp.
You might want to convert an MP3 file to a
WAV file to edit the sound or burn the song to CD.
- Hold down the CTRL key & press P
to access Winamp preferences.

- Under Plug-ins highlight Output.
- Click on Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in... [out_disk.dll]
to highlight that selection.
- Click on the Configure button.

- Set the Output directory to a place you can find
and click on the button shown above.
- Single-file mode
will do just that, record your playlist into a giant WAV
file. WAV files take up a lot of space on your
hard disk so be careful not to fill your drive. An average 5 to
6 minute song takes over 50 megabytes of storage space while a similar
MP3 takes over 5 megabytes of space.
Note: To burn an audio CD
a WAV file must be set to the format shown above under
Convert to format. Most stereo MP3
files will convert to that automatically but mono files will not.
You must set that option to burn mono MP3 files as WAV
files.
